Captain Peter Anstruther was probably a younger son of John Anstruther of Anstruther and Elizabeth Spens of Wormiston. He is aid to have been killed in 1589, although mention is made in 1593; "et du Capn Anstruches quinze mille cinq cens soixante deux florins".
