Johan Goran Irving was probably the grandson of Alexander Irving [SSNE 2715], although he has been confused with his son. He held the land of Hesselby in Kvistbro parish. He is often said to have joined the Kalmar regiment in 1651, but that is not the case. What is known is that he eventually became the regimental quartermaster in Colonel Filip Lohe's regiment and later a captain there. He died in 1696.
