Robert Bruce was the son of Robert Bruce, and the brother of Anders and Rudolf. He was baptised in 1666. In later life he served as a lieutenant in the Ostgota infantry regiment. He therafter served as a captain in the Smaland infantry regiment. He died in 1683. He was married to a Swedish noblewoman, Helena Ramsvard. They had a son, Gustav Bruce [SSNE 6068] who joined the Kalmar Regiment in 1700, but died in 1702
