Carl Maclean was the son of John/Hans Maclean [SSNE 1631] and his wife Anna Gubbertz. He was born on 24 September 1638 and entered military service in Sweden. By 1673 Maclean served as a lieutenant in the Königsmark regiment. He later became a captain, and eventually a colonel in French service. He died unmarried before 1680.J.N.M.
