Text source
Frances Rose was the daughter of John Rose, possibly of the Kilravock family. Ca. 1656 her mother sent her with Colonel John Gibson to Russia where she married a Briton and embraced Orthodoxy. Despite many petitions to the Tsar, she returned home only when a Polish officer abducted her in 1673.D.
