In a letter dated 28 June 1639, from Hamburg, Richard Shorland - an officer - signed a testmonial that arms bought by Sir Thomas Roe [SSNE 4421] were serviceable and fit for use by Charles I. Many of the officers were with George Fleetwood's [SSNE 2208] regiment of Swedish service giving rise to the notion that he served in the same regiment.
