Patrick Thomson was the son of Thomas Thomson [SSNE 1648] and Catharina Murray [SSNE 6255]. He received a donation on 25 April 1629 and later inherited Thomas's noble status, but was not introduced into the Riddarhus (House of Nobility) in Stockholm. Patrick was an ensign with the Närke och Värmland regiment (where Thomas had been colonel) in 1638 and a captain in 1641. He commanded part of the noble corps in 1644. In 1655 he sold a farm in Vastergotland. His promotion continued in 1657 when he became a major in the Närke och Värmland regiment. The following year he became lieutenant colonel but he was killed on 11 February 1659. He was married to Agneta Linnartsdotter Svenske who survived him. They had a daughter, also called Agneta, who married Samuel Gegerfelt, an officer of the Närke Värmland regiment. Patrick was also survived by his brother, Alexander [SSNE 3664].
