Johan Robert Stuart (1643-1698) was the son of David Stuart of Farsta [SSNE 7696] and either Britta Nilsdotter Lillieram or Beata Chesnocophera depending on the source consulted. It was perhaps he, registered as 'Suecus', who graduated in Oxford in 1655 although another, less likely possibility is John Anders Stuart (1628-1669). After some military service he became a gentleman of the Swedish Bedchamber along with his brother Carl Magnus. Johan Robert had a son of the same name who entered the Kungl. Vastagota Regement and another who joined the Närke och Varmland. Both first served as conductors in the Fottifications section of the army run by their uncle Carl Magnus Stuart [SSNE 953]. His consort was Beata Gyllenanckar.
