SKINN, JOHN [SSNE 3525]
Text source
John Skinn/Skene was a Scottish officer in Swedish service. He was a captain in regiment from 1638-9. He is possibly the same as Captain John Skene listed by Fischer as levying a regiment for service in Germany in 1637. However, the recruits encountered a storm, with many drowning and those who survived abandoning their oath to military service.
