David Seaton served as an ensign in the Uppland regiment in 1640 and later a lieutenant in 1644. Thereafter he became a lieutenant with the Lifeguard on 13 February 1645, although by 1650 he was a captain in Gustav Oxenstierna's Helsinge regiment where he served until 1657 when he died in Crackow.
