Dr John Rogers [Bieganska calls him James Rogers] acted as an envoy to Poland-Lithuania for the Eastland Company from 1580-1581. His trip to Poland included stops in Sweden, Denmark and the Hanse towns. Anna Bieganska suggests he was Scottish and that he was in Poland-Lithuania on a spying mission against Scottish Jesuits and that he remained in the country until 1610.
