Alexander Pringle served as an ensign in John Meldrom's regiment in 1629. He then became a lieutenant in William Baillie's regiment the folowing year. Pringle was later promoted to captain and served in the regiment of John Hamilton in 1632. This regiment transferred to the command of Ludowick Leslie [SSNE 396] and took part in the battle of Lutzen.
