James Lyon was a Scottish officer who served in the Swedish army. He was a captain in David Drummond's [SSNE 2396] regiment from 1635-1638. He was also amongst a group of Scottish officers who in 1638 had approached the Swedish Riksrad in order to present a supplication to the Swedish Crown but did not have a pass to do so. However, the Queen intervened to help them with their issue, probably concerning their return to Scotland to join the Covenanting army.
