An undated later signed by William Wimes survives in the Swedish archives, referring to James Lumsden [SSNE 3003] as the governor at Newcastle, and seeking to obtain the remaining balance of Lumsden's pension from Sweden. The Swedish Chancellor, Axel Oxenstierna, had released 4000 riksdaler for Lumsden in Hamburg, however there were still 2000 riksdaler lacking. Wimes wrote the letter in Osnabruk in the mid-1640s, but it is unclear if he was working for the Swedes, or just for Lumsden.Swedish Riksarkivet, Axel Oxenstiernas Brefvexling, E655, n.d.
