William Douglas started as lieutenant in James Spens' [SSNE 1642] recruited infantry regiment, where he became captain in 1629. In 1631 he transferred to Robert Leslie's [SSNE 4695] recruited infantry regiment. This is the brother of Robert Douglas' [SSNE 2378] and Richard Douglas [SSNE 6690]. He died in 1631.
