Matthew Forbets/Forbes enrolled at Uppsala University in 1644 with Alexander Forbets [SSNE 227], while two other Forbets, P. Olaus and Jon. Nicolous enrolled the following year. He may have been a great grandson of Henry Forbes of Thainstone, in which case his parents were Colonel John Forbes [SSNE 2243?] and Catherine Laurelius.Andersson et al, Uppsala Universitets Matrikel, (Uppsala, 1900-1911); T.
