Captain Arthur Forbes was a son of Arthur, 10th Lord Forbes and his wife Jean, daughter of Lord Alexander Elphinstone, and was born at Dunbeath in 1615. Along with his brothers Alexander, Master of Forbes [SSNE 1616], John [SSNE 4332], William [SSNE 2262] and James [SSNE 3881]. They also had an illigitimate half-brother, Major John Forbes [SSNE 2243] also in Swedish service. Arthur enlisted into Johan Skytte's [SSNE 6280] regiment and died on campaign.
