Text source

William Crafoord was probably the brother of Göran [SSNE 4353] and the son of Alexander Crawford [SSNE 1610]. William is said to have served as vice-corporal in Alexander Leslie's [SSNE 1] regiment, and with two further regiments. In 1633 he was a 'forare' with the Uppland regiment and then made lieutenant. He apparently left the army for a time in 1646 or 47. However in 1651 he returned and served as 'jagarmaster' in Finland and Österbotten. He died during Sweden's war with Poland in 1658.
