George Stewart served in Sir Thomas Conway's [SSNE 6634] regiment in Swedish service from 1627 with the rank of captain. He returned to Britain in 1631 on a recruiting mission, but was drowned with his Colonel off Denmark or Norway on 5 November 1631. 300 other men died with them
