Paul Beaton was the son of Hercules Beaton [SSNE 4341]. He served as a captain in G. O. Stenbock's recruited infantry regiment in 1657, then as a reformed captain in Kronoberg's regiment. He was eventually promoted to lieutenant colonel in the artillery in 1674 after service in Pomerania. Beaton became vice-commandant at Stettin but died on 9 December 1677. His sons Hercules [SSNE 4342] and Paul [SSNE 1798] were also in Swedish
