Alexander Ramsay was a captain and commandant in Scotland. He accompanied 3000 recruited Scots to Sweden in the summer of 1573 and arrived in Gothenburg. The majority of these men were transported to Livonia through Finland by Charles de Mornay. Ramsay died before 1576 in Riga. His son Hans [SSNE 1636] was also in Swedish service.
