Thomas Herbert (1656-1733), 8th Earl of Pembroke and Lord High Admiral Pembroke was accompanied to Sweden by Viscount Villiers and Milford Lexington. According to Swedish sources he took part in an embassy to Karl XII in 1697 in Rysvick, but that year he also met Russian delegates in the Hague.Svenske sandebud till utlandske hof och dessas sandebud till Sverige (unpublished manuscript in Riksarkiv, compiled c. 1841), p.86; L.
