John Ramsay was a Scotsman who served in the Swedish army. He was the Regimental Scribe in the company and regiment of Sir James Ramsay [SSNE 3315] in 1631. In the same company was another John Ramsay [SSNE 3320], the company corporal. There were also two further officers called James Ramsay, one being the Colonel and the other a "furier"
