Peter Lacy entered Russian service in 1697 and fought against Danes, Swedes and Turks between 1705-21. He was commander in chief at St.Petersburg and other places in 1725. He helped to put Augustus of Saxony on the Polish throne in 1733-5. He was field marshal in 1736.
