Walter Donaldson is listed as a philosophical writer who was attached to the embassy sent by King James VI of Scotland to Denmark in 1594. He studied at Heidelberg in 1599. In June 1620 a theologian called Walter Donaldson (1575-1630), 40-50 years of age and noted as a Scotsman by birth, living in Paris and who had adopted French ways was mentioned in Leiden university records. He may have been considered for a position at that university.
