Charles Goodfellow served first in Moscow in 1695 as an agent of Hudson's Bay Co., and never relinquished that post. In April 1699 he was employed as a factor by the tobacco companies and traded as an independent in flax, hemp and potash. In September 1699 he was appointed Consul-General and Minister. He returned to England in 1714 where he traded as Goodfellow, Ransom and Parsons, Russia Merchants.
