The School of History offers language bursaries for postgraduate students who, for their research, wish to attend a language school outside St Andrews (usually, but not necessarily, over the summer). Bursaries will be no more than £1,000, and can only be spent on the costs of attendance (fees, travel, accommodation) at a language school approved by the School of History – e.g. the Goethe Institute (Germany), the Alliance Francaise (Paris), the Società Dante Alighieri (Siena).
Both current and prospective postgraduate students are eligible to apply. Prospective students must have received an offer of a place on one of our MLitt or PhD programmes. The deadline is 30 April.
