University of St Andrews

Visiting the School

We warmly welcome prospective students to the School of Geography & Sustainable Development on University Visiting Days. We would strongly encourage you to make the trip to St Andrews before applying here because there is no substitute for actually experiencing the place yourself and hearing first hand about the degrees that we offer.

The University Visiting Days are designed to give you an in-depth insight into the distinctive features of this university and to answer your questions. They include a tour of the town and the University, with visits to various university buildings. Within this School we offer talks about our degrees, and provide the chance to chat informally with staff and students. This gives you the chance to discover for yourself 'what it's really like' to study and live here for four years.

If you would like to visit us but cannot manage on any of the official University Visiting Days, we will try to find a convenient time when you can visit the school and meet with a member of staff.

To arrange a visit of this type, please contact the School Secretary on email:

Inevitably, however, this provides a much less complete insight than the full package, so we strongly recommend coming on a Visiting Day if at all possible.
