DGSD team announce major international congress: FORAMS2018

Monday 07 November 2016

DGSD staff and students have recently launched the first circular for a major international congress FORAMS2018 which is held every four years and will see between 300-400 researchers in Scotland (Edinburgh and St Andrews) in June 2018.

The hosts of the meeting are Professor William Austin (DGSD Head of Department) and Professor Kate Darling (DGSD Honorary Professor), ably supported by Dr Elena Cappelli (DGSD research fellow). The first circular includes a fusion of science and art, highlighting the artwork of DGSD PhD student (Montaha Alammar) and the creativity of DGSD cartographer (Mr Graeme Sandeman). Montaha’s scientific artwork was recently also recognized by The Micropalaeontological Society’s microfossil image competition for inclusion in their 2017 calendar.
