St Andrews students reach final of npower Future Leaders Challenge

Tuesday 15 November 2011

Three students within the Department of Geography and Sustainable Development and a student in the School of Management have taken St Andrews to the finals of the npower Future Leaders Challenge for a third consecutive year.

The team organised and ran the Fife Futures Forum in October, an event which was designed to forge links across further and higher education in Scotland to work towards building sustainable communities.

Their entry took them into the first part of the finals during which they attended a corporate team-building weekend on Dartmoor with other teams from across the UK. The group are currently working on developing a multi-lingual education pack and running workshops with communities and businesses across Scotland. They received £400 from npower to implement their project and have also secured sponsorship from golf's international governing body, the R&A.

The team (pictured below) will attend the finals in December with their staff mentor Prof. Jan Bebbington.
