McKee contributes to new book on ‘The State of Neoliberalism’

Wednesday 24 August 2016

Dr Kim McKee has contributed to a new book entitled: "Der Staat des Neoliberalismus" (the State of Neoliberalism), edited by Thomas Biebricher, a Professor of Political Theory and Philosophy at the Goethe-University, Frankfurt.

Published by Nomos in Germany: “Governance jenseits des Neoliberalismus in Großbritannien” (Governing the Neoliberal State in Great Britain), was a co-authored chapter with Prof. Mark Bevir, a Professor of Political Science at UC Berkeley.  The chapter draws on Kim’s longstanding empirical work on social housing governance in Scotland.

This inter-disciplinary book, which spans a diverse array of geographies, is defined by its engagement with the State in neoliberal thought.  Other contributors include: Prof. Bob Jessop (Lancaster), Loic Wacquant (Berkeley) and Jamie Peck (British Columbia).

This text will be of relevance to scholars and students across a range of social science disciplines that are interested in governance, state theory and neoliberalism.
