DGSD partnership in new £10M investment plans for marine laboratories

Recently announced plans by the acting Principal, Professor Garry Taylor, will see new investment (£10M) for marine laboratories at the University of St Andrews through the DGSD partnership within the Scottish Oceans Institute (SOI).

 Commenting on the news, Professor William Austin (HoD) noted: “The Department of Geography and Sustainable Development plays an active role in the marine sciences, from our involvement in undergraduate teaching programmes to leading-edge research; this major new investment is excellent news for St Andrews and we look forward to the closer involvement of our staff and students with the exciting Scottish Oceans Institute initiative”. The DGSD are represented on the SOI management board by Dr Tim Stojanovic.
