First Aid training for DGSD staff and postgraduates

Wednesday 13 May 2015

Academic staff and research postgraduates recently completed an intensive, competency based, two-day fieldwork/outdoor First Aid course which was delivered by Marlin Training.

Organised by DGSD Safety Officer, Dr Katy Roucoux, the course was specifically designed to prepare staff and postgraduates who undertake fieldwork in remote locations.

The photograph (below) shows Stuart Marshall (Marlin Training) demonstrating emergency wound dressing and bandaging techniques to an attentive Director of Teaching (Dr Mike Kesby) and an equally engaged former Director of Teaching (Dr Charles Warren).
