McKee Launches new Critical Urbanist’s Blog

Tuesday 28 October 2014

Dr Kim McKee, lecturer in the Department of Geography & Sustainable Development launches a new blog.

A new ‘Critical Urbanists’ Blog has been launched by Drs Kim McKee, Tom Moore and Joe Crawford, which seeks to offer a new online platform for urban scholars and practitioners to offer commentary on contemporary urban issues.  The blog aims to bring together individuals interested in the broad theme of socio-spatial justice within local, regional, national and international contexts.

Organised and managed by an editorial team drawn from the Universities of St Andrews (Reid, Leahy), Sheffield, Stirling, Westminster, York and Bristol, the blog has three core objectives:

  • To promote online debate and discussion about urban social theory, policy and practice
  • To provide an open and inclusive platform for these debates, offering a more instant medium than traditional academic publishing
  • To encourage contributions from scholars at all career stages, and from those outside academia, who are concerned with our broad thematic focus. We especially welcome contributions from early career academic researchers

For further details, including information about how to get involved in this collaborative writing project, please see the About Us page on the Blog
