Marine Science Community name DGSD student dissertation the best in UK

Congratulations to Christine McKenna (BSc Geography/Mathematics) and 2014 Edwards Prize recipient in the Department of Geography and Sustainable Development who has received the tripartite prize for the UK's best final year undergraduate dissertation in Marine Science 2014.

The award was announced yesterday evening (11th September, 2014) at a gala dinner at the Plymouth Guild Hall on behalf of the Challenger Society for Marine Science, the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology, and the Society for Underwater Technology.

Dr Bee Berx (Marine Science Scotland) who co-supervised Christine's Geography dissertation with William Austin (DGSD) commented from Plymouth that she was delighted to discover that Christine's work had been awarded the 2014 prize and added that she was "very proud".
