Dan Clayton contributes to 'The Landscapes of Wild West' for BBC4

Wednesday 22 January 2014

Dan Clayton travelled to the Tin Can Island Production studio in Norwich to contribute to three one-hour TV programmes on 'The Landscapes of Wild West' which will be broadcast on BBC4 and the BBC World Channel later this year.

Set against stunning footage of the mountain ranges, plains and deserts of the America West, Dan commented on how questions of geography, geology and landscape shaped a complex history that involved the spread of disease and disappearance of the buffalo, the conflict between the U.S. Cavalry and Indian tribes of the Great Plains, the development of modern farming and cattle ranching, and the Oregon Trail and California Gold Rush.
