Students share summer internship experiences

Thursday 10 October 2013

Around 40 DGSD honours students attended an evening event run by the School President, Daisy Osborne, reporting back on their summer internships.

A range of returning Geography and Sustainable Development students (Caitlin Reid, George King, Kenneth Easson, Morgan Buckner, Paul Young, Sasha Read, Will Hutton, Jaime Jones) took to the floor to share their internship experiences, which involved working with a variety of employers from GlaxoSmithKline to Tata Steel. Presentations were also given from the organisation ‘Third Sector in Scotland’ a body which matches students to paid internships in voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises. The whole event was a great success, and it was incredibly interesting to hear what our students have been busy doing this summer. Well done Daisy for all your hard work organising it.
