The Centre for Population Change wins £6 million grant from the Economic and Social Research Council

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) has awarded a £6 million grant to the Centre for Population Change (CPC)

The Centre for Population Change, a collaboration between the University of Southampton and a consortium of Scottish Universities led by St Andrews, has won a £6 million grant from the Economic and Social Research Council to continue its work for a further five years from January 2014. The new research programme is organised around five thematic areas:

  1. Fertility and family change
  2. Increasing longevity and the changing lifecourse
  3. New mobilities and migration
  4. Understanding intergenerational relations and exchange
  5. Integrated demographic estimation and forecasting.

The Centre Director is Professor Jane Falkingham (Southampton); Professors Elspeth Graham (St Andrews) and Maria Evandrou (Southampton) are co-Directors. Professor Allan Findlay (St Andrews) is a theme leader for theme 3.
