Dr Emilia Ferraro has received The Andrew Glasgow Writer's Residency Fellowship at Penland School of Craft

Penland School of Craft is  a national centre for craft education located in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. Its long history, and inspiring retreat setting have made it a model of experiential education, attracting each year an average of 1200 students who attend its residential workshops, and 14,000 visitors.

The Andrew Glasgow writer’s residency fellowship provides invited writers, scholars, and curators with time to conduct research and write on topics designed to advance the field of crafts; focused time in a retreat environment, and close interaction with studio artists. Among past recipients are Christopher Benfey, Mellon Professor of English at Mount Holyoke College; curator and writer Ingrid Schaffner, and Barry Lopez, author, essayist, and fiction writer.
