SGSD delivers Blue Carbon research impact

Monday 05 March 2018

SGSD researchers contributed new evidence to Scotland's Climate Change Plan, published this week - Blue Carbon resources are now contributing to the Scottish Government's latest publication on climate change proposals and policies (2018-2032).

Our school's work is also cited in the latest update from the UK Office for National Statistics - highlighting Blue Carbon as an increasingly valued component of UK Natural Capital.

The Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society (SAGES) have awarded Professor Bill Austin additional Scottish Funding Council - Pool Engagement in European Research (PEER) funding for a new Blue Carbon initiative involving UK, Dutch, Danish, Belgian and Spanish researchers.
