SGSD visiting scholar wins International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) funding

Congratulations to Gunasekaran Kannan (pictured centre left), who has recently received follow-on funding from the IAEA to attend a Climate Change Symposium in Washington DC, USA later this year (2018).

Gunasekaran (based at Annamalai University, India) worked with Professor Austin’s research group while a British Council – Newton Bhabha visiting fellow at the University of St Andrews in 2017; his conference paper (co-authored by Fabricio Guaman, Fiona Muller and Bill Austin) explores the impacts of elevated carbon dioxide and ocean acidification on marine calcifying organisms – work carried out by the team at the Scottish Oceans Institute, University of St Andrews.
