QMRG Dissertation Prize Winner

Tuesday 03 October 2017

Congratulations to recent graduate Laurence Day who has secured first place in the QMRG Dissertation Prize competition.

The judges were extremely impressed by his work and their comments included: “This project centres on investigating the relationship between forest cover and malaria incidence in Bangladesh over a three year period (2012-2014). The assessors commend the geographical and methodological ambition evident in the work, integrating both human and physical components and utilising multi-level statistical modelling to assess forest cover alongside other potential determinants of malaria incidence. The dissertation shows excellent awareness of the links between epistemology and methodology, model results are well interpreted well yielding clear findings and study conclusions”.

They urged Laurence to continue with this project and a future research career.
