The School of Geography & Sustainable Development will host a MASTS visiting fellowship.
Professor Thomas Bianchi of the University of Florida has been announced as the latest recipient of a prestigious MASTS visiting fellowship and will be hosted by SGSD researchers Craig Smeaton and Bill Austin over the summer 2017. The visiting fellowship has been organized in collaboration with the Scottish Association for Marine Sciences (Dr Natalie Hicks) and the University of Glasgow (Dr Jaime Toney), based on an application entitled “Sources, Subsidies and Sinks: Blue Carbon in Coastal Environments”. The month-long stay will include a Masterclass Workshop on “Blue Carbon” (hosted by SGSD in collaboration with SAGES) and a Policy Breakfast with Scottish Government and interested stakeholders.
