Albert Sabater led the successful co-supervision (with Dr Andreu Domingo) of PhD student Juan Galeano from the Centre for Demographic Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Juan Galeano successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “The spatial distribution and settlement of the foreign-born population in Spain at the beginning of the 21st Century” on Friday 16th December at the Department of Geography of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain.

The external examiners were Prof Oriol Nel·lo (Autonomous University of Barcelona), Dr John Palmer (University Pompeu Fabra), and Dr Diana López-Falcon (Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research).

As part of Juan Galeano’s PhD, an online database (Open Access) has been built to disseminate the empirical research – find out more here.
