Guest Lecture to be presented by Professor Audrey Kobayashi

The GOSSIP Research Group and the School of Geography and Sustainable Development in conjunction with the School of Management are delighted to welcome Professor Audrey Kobayashi, Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario).

The event will take place in the Byre Studio, Byre Theatre, University of St Andrews from 4.30 pm on Monday, 16 October 2017 with a reception to follow.

Professor Audrey Kobayashi, Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario)

Professor Audrey Kobayashi is a world-leading scholar, and has written ground-breaking work on gender, race, community and philosophy. She has been a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia, University College London, and Canterbury University, Christchurch. She has served as President of the Canadian Association of Geographers and as Editor of People, Place and Region, Annals of the Association of American Geographers.

Her work has shaped debates within and beyond Geography, making meaningful connections between critical and theoretical writing and public policy. She has been a Fulbright Fellow at the Migration Policy Institute in Washington, DC, and her current research builds on her expertise in race, community and justice in Canada.
