Graduate School welcomes its new Masters students
The Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies this week welcomed its new intake of Masters students.
Over their first week the new students completed a strudctured orientation programme designed to to have something of the fun and intensity of the undergraduate "freshers" week but with a distinctive Masters students feel.
Coming together each morning for breakfast provided new students with an introduction to the Graduate School community and a chance to get to know each other. The breakfasts provided a starting point for each day's activities. These included briefings to welcome students into their Masters degrees as well as seminars on interdisciplinary working and skills needed to suceed as a postgraduate. Alongside the more formal elements, there was time for students to attend social events hosted by the Postgraduate Society and other student societies, take part in one of the Saints Sports "give it a go" sessions, and drop in on the traditional student mixers and beach bonfires.
The week concluded with a guided tour of the new V&A museum in Dundee.
Welcome to St Andrews!
