New MLitt in Gender Studies launched
The Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies is pleased to launch a new Masters degree in gender studies.
The MLitt in Gender Studies explores the history and nature of key theoretical concepts in gender studies. The degree encompasses subjects including feminism and women’s studies, masculine studies, sexism and oppression, and queer theory.
The degree is committed to the intersectional analysis of the phenomena it examines and is intended to deepend students' understanding of the connections between gender, class, ethnicity, sexuality, and power. The MLitt in Gender Studies has close links with the St Andrews Institute for Gender Studies. These links bring students into contact with current gender studies research across different disciplines, helping to give their studies a remarkable richness and depth.
The application period for September 2020 entry is open now. The MLitt in Gender Studies welcomes applicants from a range of disciplinary backgrounds including, but not limited to, anthropology, cultural studies, history, literary studies, media studies, philosophy, politics.
