Interdisciplinary PhD Research and Travel Funding
The Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies (GSIS) is delighted to offer up to 12 awards to interdisciplinary PhD students to support them in an interdisciplinary activity which will further their PG research.
The fund is open to any PhD student currently supervised by more than one school, and in the application it has to be clearly stated how the funds will be used specifically to support interdisciplinary activity or research, as this is the sort of area where students can struggle to be funded by one particular school.
For example, awards could be used to support attendance at an interdisciplinary conference, interdisciplinary training or some other interdisciplinary activity that would not otherwise be funded by either/any of their home schools.
Funding must be used by the 31st July 2023, and all recipients must produce a blogpost or 1-2 page report thereafter, explaining how the funding was used and highlighting how it helped to support or progress their PG studies. This output may be made publicly available on the GSIS website.
Applications will be received on a rolling basis until 30th June, or the fund is used up (whichever is first). The maximum amount for any one application is £250.
Please complete the Graduate School Interdisciplinary PhD Research Fund Application Form. All applications will be reviewed by a panel, chaired by the Director of the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies.
The next round of funding will open in Autumn 2023.
