60 Hour Film Blitz Community Film Festival

blitzThe Department of Film Studies will be staging our annual 60 Hour Film Blitz Community Film Festival in early March, a film competition open to all members of the St Andrews community.  Participants will create a three minute original film, shot, edited and scored over a 60 hour period.  The kickoff for the competition will be noon, Friday, March 4, with the deadline Sunday evening, March 6.  Following the competition, we will host a Red Carpet Gala screening of all entries and an Awards Ceremony, to be held at the Byre Theatre, Thursday, March 10, at 5:30 pm.

Further, we are delighted to announce that filmmaker Joe Russo, director of the recent hit Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and director and originator of the television series Arrested Development and Community, will be serving on our panel of  judges for this year’s competition.

The theme / challenge this year will be to ‘make a film inspired by a painting’ —  a theme that should appeal to many.
