Writing 1859

Description
Examine the processes, possibilities and difficulties of writing a book about a year, and Professor Gail Marshall's decision to use George Eliot's life at that time to structure the narrative. Professor Marshall will analyse some of the things she discovered and offer thoughts about what the process has taught her, both about the Victorians and about scholarly approaches to the period.
